Do you offer any product guarantees?
Manufacturing defects happen very rarely but, based on the fact that we are only human, we understand we do make mistakes. If a problem develops with your bag during the first year of ownership, we will be happy to repair your bag for the cost of shipping only. This policy includes the mending of a broken strap, bag coming apart at the seams, or other issues that could be considered manufacturing defects. This policy is not extended to issues arising from the natural wear-and-tear a bag receives from general use.
What makes your bags cruelty-free?
We believe materials made with animal products are completely unsustainable. We will never use leather, wool, silk or any other material derived from an animal to build our bags. We even wash our cotton fabric using a plant-based, ecofriendly fabric detergent. (Did you know that many fabric detergents contain ingredients derived from animal fat?!?) When glue is called for, we use an animal-derivative-free brand (most glues contain animal proteins). The mills where our cotton, twill, tencel, and hemp fabrics are sourced abide by Fair Trade regulations, are GOTS and SKLA certified organic, and the dyes they use are plant-based, non-sulfur dyes (no harmful chemical run-off). In addition, we donate all our fabric scraps to local art programs and/or artists thus making Pansy Maiden a nearly zero-waste operation. To us, cruelty free entails no harm done to animals, to man, or our Earth.
Where are Pansy Maiden bags made?
In Laura's home-based studio in Medford, Massachusetts, just six miles north of Boston.
I have a promo code, but I can't find the promo code field!
The promo code field will appear after you have been directed to PayPal and
have entered all payment information. Once you press "continue," you will then be directed back to Pansy Maiden's site where you
can enter the promo code, decide upon your shipping method, and submit
your order.
I live near Boston! Can I pick up my bag?
We no longer offer local pick-up. Sorry!
Are your bags machine washable?
Our twill/canvas bags (purchased after August 2009) are machine washable: Gentle cycle, cold/cold, tumble dry low, iron using cotton settings Our waxed canvas bags can literally be sprayed down with a water hose (for real, we've done it) or wiped clean with a little bit of soap and water. Contact us if you are not entirely sure how to clean your bag.
What about custom bags?
Sadly, we no longer have the time to make extensive customizations to bags at our customers' request. However, there are still a couple of ways you can customize your Pansy Maiden bag. If you see a style you like but want a different color combo, or if you want an adjustable strap rather than a shoulder strap (or vise versa)--no problem! We can easily make this happen for you. If you would like to customize your bag in either of these ways, just send us an email so we can begin the process. Depending upon the request, custom orders could carry a 20% fee. For instance, if you would like us to use a fabric in a color we do not currently have in stock, we will need to source the material and pay to have it shipped to us. This is an example of a customization that would require a fee. If, however, you would like to use a color we currently have in stock, there would be no fee. Custom Orders are not eligible for return or exchange. All custom orders are final sales. Contact us for more details.
