It Takes A Village

Pansy Maiden is a one-woman business but not a one-woman show. It takes a lot of help from kind people who believe in what I am doing and who want to help Pansy Maiden succeed. Please allow me to introduce you to members of the extended Pansy Maiden family. These amazing people have volunteered their tremendous talents and time in order to help Pansy Maiden grow and thus assist me with making my dreams come true. I cannot thank them enough.

Catherine Maldonado. TeePearls Owner/Maker. Pansy Maiden Assistant. I work full-time in Boston as a web developer and my interests keep me busy with numerous activities-- including helping out at Pansy Maiden. My attraction to design, illustration and crafts lead to the creation of TeePearls. Re-purposing t-shirts to make unique accessories is the first of many steps I love in having my own business. While challenging, the entire process, from designing and constructing packaging to getting feedback from the community online and in retail spaces, continues to be rewarding.

Vanessa Morelan. Student. Pansy Maiden Assistant. I am currently a student at Boston University studying Environmental Policy and Analysis with a minor in business. In my free time I enjoy cooking, especially trying out new vegan recipes. I have been a vegetarian since I was 8, and have been a vegan for the past 3 years. Needless to say, veganism has a prominent role in my life. I also enjoy hiking, running, and rock climbing. I am also an avid supporter of the American Heart Association, participating in walks and events whenever I can. Overall, I’m a very driven person, and I’m looking forward to furthering my education at Boston University and continuing my passion for the environment strengthening.

Lucie Wicker. Photographer. Lucie Wicker Photography. I am a Boston-based photographer specializing in fitness portraiture and product photography. In my work, I try to draw out the romantic and sometimes whimsical aspects of seemingly ordinary scenes and scenarios. A quick look, a quiet moment, or a soft light are elements that tend to find their way into my images. In addition to photography, I enjoy trying out new restaurants, watching documentaries about sharks, Tim Burton movies, Edward Gorey illustrations, anything Wes Anderson, the Boston Red Sox, and watching my beagle do funny things. Michelle Thai. Principal. Three Bits Marketing. Hi! I'm Michelle. I am constantly seeking opportunities to use my passion and marketing skills to benefit meaningful brands: social enterprises, environmentally conscious retailers, and nonprofits. I believe that if everyone chose to shop more consciously - by choosing the more ethical brands like Pansy Maiden - we could make an enormous, positive impact the environment and economy. For that reason I launched Three Bites Marketing. Three Bites is a boutique marketing agency that specializes in small eco-brands. We help these small green businesses advance their triple bottom line by providing them marketing, advertising, and PR services.

Corey Grant. Graphic Designer. Green Vegan Media. For the love of design, she poured on the paint. For the love of animals, she went vegan in 2008. Corey pulled a few heart's desires together in 2011 and created Green Vegan Media, a graphic design studio. She works with small businesses and non-profits that also desire love for animals and the environment. Green Vegan Media specializes in web design, print design, advertising, and identity. Corey brings nearly ten years of experience that she garnered working at an ad agency, daily newspaper, city magazine, and non-profit. She donates 5% of proceeds to an animal sanctuary or veg-friendly charity.
